My career as a Front-End Engineering Manager, Designer, Developer

I’m an Engineering Manager, a web developer, UX designer, and digital strategist with over 15 years of experience crafting digital solutions.

As the Founder & Member Manager of Solo Develop, I lead a consultancy dedicated to helping businesses create scalable, user-friendly experiences.

My journey has taken me through leadership roles at Virgin Mobile USA, Ebates, and Rakuten Rewards, where I played pivotal roles in front-end engineering, UI development, and major rebranding efforts.

My Journey

Over 20 years ago, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Design and Visualization, but opportunities were scarce due to my lack of experience.

Determined to build my career, I became a self-employed consultant, teaching myself web design and development.

This led to my first major role at Virgin Mobile USA, where I managed content deployment and optimized web performance.

From there, I joined Ebates as a Senior Web Developer and later became Web Development Manager, where I led the front-end team through the $1 billion acquisition by Rakuten.

At Rakuten Rewards, I advanced to Squad Lead & Front-End Engineer IC, helping transition the company to a modern React/Next.js stack and driving UI/UX improvements.

After Rakuten, I returned to my entrepreneurial roots, building Solo Develop to provide businesses with digital strategy, web development, and branding expertise.

While leading my consultancy, I remain open to full-time opportunities, whether as an individual contributor or through Solo Develop, in accordance with California regulations.
